I am Hanne Ihlen, a national and international trainer in Drama Therapy and the Therapeutic Spiral Model (TSM), as well as an integrative drama therapist, psychodramatherapist, and clinical supervisor.
My work focuses on developing clinical competence in experiential, trauma-informed, and action-based methods for professionals working across health care, social care, education, and the arts.
I provide clinical supervision for professionals, supporting reflective practice, clinical decision-making, and the safe and effective application of experiential methods in complex professional contexts.
In addition, I offer international training and workshops tailored to the needs of organisations, practitioners, and trainees, with the aim of strengthening and refining clinical practice.
I work both online and in person.
I have extensive experience working with a wide range of client groups. I specialise in working with trauma.
I am passionate about using drama therapy, non-verbal, and other creative and experiential methods to support psychological change and clinical development.
My approach is often described as practical, clear, and grounded. I aim to create a safe and contained therapeutic and learning environment in which people can develop confidence in their own clinical or personal process. Qualities that are frequently reflected back to me include patience, attentiveness, calmness, creativity, and a strong capacity for attuned listening.
What characterises my work is the integration of multiple clinical and experiential frameworks into a coherent therapeutic language. I draw on Schema Therapy, Psychodrama, ACT, art-based methods, embodiment approaches, Sandplay, role theory, Polyvagal Theory, and Narrative Therapy to support flexible and structured clinical practice.
